Shimmer Shimmery Pappady Do! Review: Burt's Bees Lip Shimmer in Watemelon

Ahh lipbalms. How I adore them. They were my first discovery into the land of beauty at the tender age of 13. I remember pooh pooh-ing the idea of lip balm and golly.. How wrong I was, n years later.

Now my lip balm collection is out of control, with the last check being around 100+ lip products, inclusive of balms, gloss, stick, butter. I am genuinely afraid to count further. Anyway, less babble and onto today's review.

Enter Burt's Bees Lip Shimmer in Watermelon.

I apologise for the lack of swatch pictures beforehand. My camera just managed to capture a decent enough picture, (the one above) and after that it just refuses to take any other pictures. I will try my best to describe the colour as accurately as possible.

Where do I start? Right.. Product Information

Name: Burt's Bees Lip Shimmer in Watermelon
Weight/Price: 0.09 oz/ 2.6g / USD 4.99
Packaging: Twist up lip balm with cap. Note: Don't over twist the lip balm. It doesn't come back down!
Repurchase: Not very likely. I have a gazillion more to go through!

The lip shimmer is best described as a frosty light rose lip balm. On my lips it leans towards frosty pink. Applied onto lips it has a slight tingly/minty taste which I like and also apparent in my other Burt's Bees lip balm. As a lip shimmer I say it would have worked up to its claims, being shimmery and being coloured. But for its moisturising properties, I have to comment on the lack of it. Applying it on is a dream, with just enough slip when you smack your lips together but it is not as moisturising as an ordinary lip balm would. This would be the trade off between having colours on your lips and having a moisturising lip balm I gather. I like this lip balm on days where I go out at night because this doesn't have SPF.

Overall, this is an alright balm with nothing much to really write home about. I bought it purely because I liked the colour and nothing else. It gives a nice colour to my lips and its not as reflective on my lips than it is on my hands but I can't see myself repurchasing this lip balm simply because I have a gazillion more to go through. Note: This contains lanolin and carmine.

Ingredients are as below,

Ricinus communis (castor) seed oil, helianthus annus (sunflower) seed oil, beeswax, euphorbia cerifera wax, methe piperita (peppermint) oil, lanolin, theobroma cacao (cocoa) seed butter, copernicia cerifera wax, butyrospermum parkii (shea) butter, fragaria ananassa (strawberry) seed oil, prunus armeniaca (apricot) kernel oil, ribes nigrum (blackcurrant) seed oil, rosmarinus officinalis (rosemary) leaf extract, sambucus nigra (elderberry) seed oil, tocopherol, canola oil, glycine soja (soybean) oil. May contrain: mica, iron oxides, carmine, alumina and titanium dioxide.

Review: Help! My gel eyeliner has dried up.. Fret not! Inglot Duraline to the rescue!!

Happy Thursday everybody! For Chinese around the world who will be celebrating Mooncake Festival today, happy mooncake festival y'all!

I remember when Inglot Cosmetics opened up in Sunway Pyramid. I told myself that I will purchase their much raved AMC gel eyeliners. Alas, the many times I visited Sunway Pyramid, I did not exit the store with purchasing the gel eyeliners.

Fast forward a few years, I was rummaging through my make up stash and realise most of my gel eyeliners has dried out before I even opened them. Exasperated, I turned to the almighty Google for answers. And they did. Google directed me to Inglot and I exited the store with Duraline.

Product Information:

Name: Inglot Duraline
Price: RM38/9ml
Packaging: Clear glass bottle with a dropper on top.
Repurchase: No. I don't think I can finish this in my lifetime!

So did it actually 'activated' my dried up eyeliner? Yes it did. However, I think I added a little too much product onto the gel eyeliner and it became very watery. Within an hour or so, I ended up with two eyeliners, one on my lash line, one on my lids. LOL.

Therefore, I do not recommend using most than 1/4 of the length of the dropper. Anything beyond will be an overkill and you might end up with two eyeliners, and on a date as well!

According to the SA, Duraline does not have an expiry date but based on the box its good for 9 months. I personally won't adhere to the expiry date because I believe that as long it does not sting my eye or give me infections I will still continue using this. And I can foresee Duraline lasting me a very very long time. Oh! And do you know it transforms eyeshadows into gel eyeliners as well?

So, ladies.. When you're gel eyeliner dries up, where you going to go? Inglot! (Hehe, I think I had a little bit too much sugar. My apologies)

Here is a swatch of Coastal Scent Sky Line's dried up gel eyeliner mixed with Duraline.

That's all folks! Hope to see you guys next time. Cheers!

Review: Nivea Creme

Look at how time flies eh, it's mid October already! And fast forward a few more weeks we'll be looking at the end of the year and singing Auld Lang Syne to this year (That's why I do every year end :D) and fret about getting a year older and all.. Man I miss this year already!

And yes, sorry for the long disappearance again and there is no excuse I know. So here I am with a treat for you guys, a review on Nivea Creme!

Credits Here

The iconic blue tin and creamy white cream has been around for so long that they are passed through generations. I remember the smell of Nivea Creme in the house in my younger days but it wasn't until recently when I was looking for a pick-me-up after a long jogging session that I picked this up after debating whether I really need this or just buying it cause I need a pick-me-up.

Needless to say I pick it up.

I have the biggest conflict about this cream, my hands love it and I don't fancy the smell. I mean it's tolerable because I just slap it on and go to sleep. But that is exactly what is stopping me from repurchasing the cream. I like my moisturisers that I use on my body daily to be non scented or lightly scented and Nivea's.. is kind of heavily scented for me ): So that's a minus one.

However.. my skin, or rather my hands love it and I always wake up to beautifully soft skin the next day or when you've been drinking and your whole body is dried up like a prune? I slap on Nivea Creme and my hands just drink it up and becomes softer. So it does work! And works fast too! And because of Nivea Creme, I don't have dry scaly hands anymore! So that's a plus one.

Hmm.. so does this make me want to repurchase this creme? Considering I've just finished it yesterday.. Hmm.. Maybe not. I still have tonnes of moisturisers to go through so it'd probably be awhile before I come around to repurchase this.

Have you ladies tried Nivea Creme? What's you take on it? Do let me know in the comments! Thanks & have a great day! :D

September Round Up of P10P

Hi guys! It's been ages since I've posted up something regarding p10p yeah? There are times where I don't finish up anything because items like foundations etc take a looooong time to finish up so for makeup its going really slow. Which leads to one question.. In an attempt to finish off products for the end of the month round up, do you guys put on more stuff that you usually need? Do let me know in comments, don't worry I won't judge you because I do that sometimes.. sometimes! :D

Anyway, round ups for September's P10P. Quite a good month I'd say though 2-3 items from the finished items are full sized.

L-R.

Top: Cleansing Cream - Bought from a blogsop. Not a fan of cleansing creams so probably won't repurchase.

Clinelle Lip Balm with SPF - I'm on the fence about this one, I like the fact that it has a high SPF, but I don't like the thickness of the balm. Will probably repurchase for the SPF though.

Clinique Pore Minimizer Serum - I like this, despite the fact that I need to use a lot to cover my whole face. Maybe my face is big? Pores are covered and provides a good canvas for makeup.

TBS Tea Tree Oil Cleanser - Love the tea tree scent and helped keep my blemish in check. Least likely to repurchase as I am not blemish prone, and .. it's not exams yet ;p

Clinique Clarifying Lotion in No 3 - Don't like, a little bit too strong for my liking. It's like your skin is drinking alcohol.

Bottom: H20+ Body Balm in Clearwater & Poolside - Highly moisturising and non-greasy. Will repurchase the big bottle once P10P is over. I liked it so much that I even cut the bottle into half to 'properly' finish it off.

Kanebo Blanchir Superior Serum - This is supposed to be brightening serum because it wipes away old skin cells or melanin-containing old keratin and gives a brighter translucent skin. I don't detect any brightening maybe because I wasn't using enough (I use this only at night) so I don't see any brightening, so I doubt I'll repurchase.

L'Oreal Pore Genesis Serum - I have this in the US version, not the Asia version and I would say, I love this!! The scent is really nice and it covers my pores perfectly. I use this at night because it contains retinol and man.. my skin was smooth to touch after applying this serum ;p So yes, repurchase!! Heee.

That's my figure for this month. What's yours? Do share!

What I Put On My Face At Night - Yves Rocher Hydra Specific Night Cream

This is how my night regime goes - Lotion -; Serum - ; Moisturiser -; Eye Care
As skincare benefits are better reaped at night when the skin is able to absorb the active ingredients in more, I usually don't hold back on what I put on at night. For night time, I prefer more hydrating things because my skin might be oily on the forehead, but it's really dehydrated on the cheek area *fine lines. check*

My night time moisturiser, Yves Rocher Hydra Specific Night Moisturiser which promises deep replenishing night care. And deep replenishing night care it gives! And the Hydra Specific range is specially for hydration purposes.

I'm a big fan of Yves Rocher's skincare products because it's all natural, albeit on the heavy cream side. And the smell, oh the smell. I think the French like their things heavily perfumed but I guess it's okay by me because the smell goes away after awhile.. Considering the benefits that it's given me all this while.. I'd say forget about the smell!

The cream is packaged in a clear 50ml jar which I love. I love jars, anything that comes in jars, although unsanitary, *coughs*. I tend to gravitate to anything that comes in a jar packaging because I can dig onto the very last bit unlike tubes that I have to cut them open to half and finish the remaining products.

The colour of the cream comes in white and the texture is pretty heavy, like I say and caution to oily skinned ladies, do apply a pea size amount on your face cause anything bigger than that, will sort of makes you 'sweat' out. Not good, not good. Especially in our humid weather.

The cream is absorbed fairly fast into my skin, especially after I team it up with my serum, the cream just gets absorbed into my skin quickly! As in no greasiness at all, anymore! Yay. And its a bonus point that I wake up with baby soft skin, I kid you not!

I was on a trip a couple of months back and I didn't bring this gem with me.. and thanks to cabin air and everything, my skin was flat out dehydrated and when I came back I immediately put this on and voila! I wake up in the morning to baby smooth skin again!

However, because it's relatively heavy, (it's cream), I sometimes tend to skip this moisturiser when I know I'm not going to bed immediately (I do wash my face sometimes in the evening) because of the humidity levels here, it will make me sweat out ):

But apart from this little complaint, the cream is fine and moisturises my skin fairly well, and I might repurchase this when I run out, during my birthday because Yves Rocher has a buy one free one policy during your birthday month, woohoo!

:D

Yves Rocher Hydra Specific Night Cream can be bought at Yves Rocher retail outlets.

My fav things in the mornings; (especially when I'm running late!); Lioele Water Drop BB

It's midweek already! How's the week been going along for of all you pretty ladies out there? I hope it's good. I finally had the chance to watch Smurfs yesterday (very delayed I know) but it was such a good movie I would watch it again! Gosh. How I wish I could take one Smurf home with me! :D

But let's not get off topic shall we? Today I will be talking about my favorite things in the mornings, you know when you're still sleepy and you roll around for another snooze and the next minute you know you're running late for class and yet you can't walk out of the house barefaced.. Well! Then this BB is for you! :D

Lioele Water Drop BB.

Just as the name suggests this is a moisturising BB which have waterdrops in it to moisturise your skin. The thing that I really like about this BB is because it's sheer. I know it's a pretty weird thing to say because uhhh, shouldn't I want better coverage etc etc? No. Not for me at least. I like the natural look that this BB gives and when you're running late there is no need for too much blending because it's sheer it doesn't make you look as if you've done your makeup in a hurry.

Despite this being a moisturising BB, it does not make me feel like a oil slick! Yay. I have no idea why, but my skin reacts better to things that are high in water content. Perhaps my skin is dehydrated? Hmm.

And yes, the price. This BB retails at Sa Sa at RM95. Worth it? Well it's alright for me. Its a good product to use when you are in a rush or looking for a more natural look, but I prefer something with more coverage when I go for events.

Ingredients: Water, Phenyl Trimethicone, Titanium Dioxide, Cyclopentasiloxane, Alcohol Denat, Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate, 4-Methylbenzylidene Camphor, Talc, PEG-10 Dimethicone/Vinyl Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Carica Papaya Fruit Extract, Witch Hazel Bark/Leaf/Twig Extract, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Peach Fruit Extract, Cetyl PEG/PPG-10/1 dimethicone, Cl 77492, Sodium Citrate, Methylparaben, Chlorphenesin, Butylparaben, Cl 77491, Cl 44799, Fragrance, Cyclohexasiloxane, Triethoxycaprylylsilane, Disodium EDTA, Ethyl Methane Carboxamide, Butylene Glycol, Glycerin, Butylene Glycol Dicaprylate/Dicaprate, Hexyl Laurate, Sodium Hyaluronate, Polyglyceryl-4 Isostearate, Citric Acid.

NYX Rouge Cream Blush in 05 Glow

Been on a blush craze lately, and have stocked up on NYX's cream blushes and am in a love hate relationship with the blushes. Read on to find out why!

The packaging looks like MAC, or so I've been told when mum mistaken the blushes for MAC cream blushes. The blushes come in 3.5g and trust me, it can last you for a long time! The pictures I took does not do a true justice to the blush because in real life it's darker, more of a coral shade.

The blush is creamy and all you need is a little dot, when I said little, I mean really little. I always made a mistake of taking too much and looking like Bozo the Clown. Not a good look ):

Apart from that, this blush gives a real good deal for your cash because you need a little bit only for the apples of your cheeks and the lasting power is pretty good. 5-6 hours before the heats get to me and my whole face looks red ): Oh, and did I mention this is not available locally? Boo! ):

NYX Cream Blush retails at USD 6 and is available at cherryculture.com, nonpareilboutique.com.

Hurray for Hurraw! Sun Protection Balm SPF 15

Okay, while spending half of the day playing outside in the sun under an umbrella outside of my house I decided since I'm spending so much time outdoors I might as well update my blog about the sun protection balm that I've been using for awhile now.

Introducing Hurraw! Sun Protection Balm SPF 15!

I've always been on a quest to find lip balms with SPF cause as much as I love the sun, I hate the damages it can cause to the skin, especially the lips as its usually neglected when we apply sunscreen on our body. Imagine my excitement when I discovered Hurraw!'s SPF 15 lip balm.

This is how the packaging looks like. It's oval shaped too ladies so it does not roll away when stored in jeans or on the dresser. Personally I bought the balm because of its shape, I never had an oval-shaped lip balm before! :D

This is how the balm looks like, and it smells heavily of tangerine which is fine with me cause I'm a big citrus fan. And did I say anything about the glide of the balm? Simply heavenly!! Cause it just glides on beautifully and smoothly, no nasty rough glides like some lip balms with SPF has. And because of its glide I keep on reapplying on my lips heh :P Yes and it's also vegan! So it's like awesomeness in awesomeness. Especially with a glide so gooood.

However, the only minor gripe I have with this lip balm is that it gives a white cast after applied. I think it's because of the titanium oxide in the balm but it doesn't really bother me cause I use this lip balm as a base before my lip gloss and the white cast does not affect the colour of the balm, so it's okay for me. :D

Repurchase? Definitely. And other flavours too (:

Hurraw! Sun Balm retails at RM20 but for purchase of 4 balms and above, customers are entitled for 15% discount until 31 August 2011.

Dry Feet? - Fret No More!

Cause you have Natio Spa Foot Revival Cream coming to your rescue!
The feet is one of most neglected part of our bodies and because of our neglect, more often than not we end up with cracks. Not a pretty sight eh?

Full size 110ml 3.7 oz

The cream that comes out is in white in colour, if you look closer you will see some coming out from the opening of the tube. The cream is lightweight and the next morning I would wake up to more moisturised legs. Knowing how well it does wonders for my feet I decided to apply it on my hands too even though its stated foot revival cream :P And you know.. It moisturises nicely too! Talk about multipurpose!

This foot lotion is now a staple on my bedside table when I can just reach out and grab it to moisturise my feet, especially on the heel when it dries out more often! Yay!

Ingredients are as stated in the picture. Natio is an Australian made product and is available locally at Sasa. I got this from the Heavenly set few months ago retailing at RM89. If you guys still see it in Sasa I'd say grab it cause it contains 4 full size product, one foot revival cream, one body scrub, one hand lotion and foot scrub! All FULL SIZED.! Major savings! Yay! Kind to your feet and your wallet too ;o

P10P Update - With Pictures

I have something to confess. The rules of P10P stated that I could not purchase anymore makeup or skincare related thing that I'm trying to finish and I haven't been finishing all my makeup and skincare as quickly as I hope to be so I've be ridden with guilt. I keep on telling myself it's going to be the last time but it never happens! But seriously, this last spree I joined will be the last! I have chuck up on numerous amounts of foundation and blushers and for the life of me, could not finish before expiry. Big sigh. What about you guys?

Anyway, onto the P10P update.
So far this are the things I finished off that I have pictures of, cause some of them I've already disposed of.

Perfume vial - I don't know what fragrance is this but I love it to the max. It doesn't give a headache and also when applied onto my pulse points, it stays. Not like my other perfumes that stray, this is the only one that stays.

Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizer - Now I know what the rave for this moisturiser is for! It really makes me skin seem oil-free and it's always very nice to touch after application! Bad but I just can't resist! Will repurchase this definitely.

Clinique Liquid Facial Soap - No, no and no! Will definitely not repurchase though it left my skin feeling squeaky clean. The reason is cause this often cause my cheekbones to burn and its definitely not from sensitivity cause my cheekbones aren't flaming red yet. :p

Simple Clear Skin Oil Balancing Facial Scrub - Good to use as a daily scrub but not as a one week kind of thing. Because I use it only on a one week kind of thing I can't tell if its really working so probably won't repurchase.

Vaseline Cocoa Butter Body Lotion - Very creamy and moisturising and not overly perfumed! I LOVE IT! Now, why can't Malaysia just have this range in stock. REPURCHASE REPURCHASE! Yeah, that's how much I like this moisturiser. Also its very light, not too heavy for daily use.

Nivea Calm and Care Deodorant - love it so much till I repurchased it again. The smell is just heavenly but its a little on the heavy side, like all Nivea deodorants are. What I do is roll it on first and walk around to let it dry off before I put my T-shirt on to avoid the white stains on the armpit of my T-shirt.

Avon Magix Face Perfector - Its a good primer and for those days when I don't want foundation I just want sunscreen but be sure to avoid creamy foundations with this primer cause it will slide off. So far its a no repurchase because it sort of burns my face too. Not available locally too.

Boots Lip Care in Strawberry - Meh. Not repurchasing cause the smell puts me off and also its not available locally. I wish that Malaysia will bring in Boots cause their body care range is superb! Oh well, will load up when I go to Thailand this year end.

And that's all. What's your figure? Do share!

Pucker up girls! Review: Crazy Rumors Lip Balm

Hello girls! I'll be reviewing one of my favorite lip balm today; Crazy Rumors. I don't have a specific flavour that I love from Crazy Rumors cause they're all so yummy its pretty difficult to decide which one I really like! ): Oh well, onto the review.

Crazy Rumors has 8 ranges lip balm and they are :

Perk (captivating coffee inspired lip balms),
A La Mode(decadent ice cream inspired lip balms) ,
Freshly Squeezed (refreshing citrus inspired lip balm),
HibisKiss (Enchantingly Fragrant Hibiscus Inspired Lip Colours),
Soda Pop (Fizzy Soda Fountain Inspired Lip Balm),
Brew (Rejuvenating Tea Inspired Lip Balm),
Gumball (Classic Bubblegum Inspired Lip Balm)
Candy Cane (Festive Peppermint Infused Lip Balm) .

P1030099

Price: USD 3.99
Availability: Only in USA.
Glide: Simply awesome. I love the fact that they are colourless and gives a glossy finish! Oh and they're more solid than MLS. So far none of my CR lip balms have melted on me before but MLS has. 2 out of 3 in fact. Boo!
Net weight: 0.15oz

CR prides itself in being vegan and also cruelty free. It's written on their lip balms. All ingredients used are natural,

P1030101

Isn't the rabbit cute?!

This is how the balm looks like,

P1030104

P1030107

thoughts:

I would say that this is a pretty decent lip balm, and I love the Perk range because I love coffee! However, because they are not available locally tainted any possibilities of owning the full Perk range. And its not very often a spree-er places orders with CR as compared to MLS, so having CR lip balms are a rarity. If you see a CR spree anywhere, do let me know kay! (:

Apart from that, CR lip balms are really moisturising. I often go to sleep with lip balm on and some of them will wear off in the middle of the night but CR doesn't. It keeps my lips wonderfully coated on with its balm and when I wake up in the morning, its still there! And I wake up to softer lips every day. Cracked lips are a day of the past, I am happy to say! The smell is absolutely to die for too (: They smell EXACTLY like what they're names are. For example my Mocha smells exactly like Mocha, same goes to Raspberry Sherbet and all the other lip balms I owed from CR. Which makes me go 'aahhh, so lovely'.

I don't have anything bad to say about this lip balm, but I wish they could make it available locally too cause these are just simply divine! And also, inject some SPF into the balms. Due to the fact that they do not have SPF, I only use them at night. ): But all in all, its a really good balm and I wouldn't mind recommending it to friends and readers. (:

I got my balms from Rowena of MalaysianBeautyStore. But she's not doing a spree on CR anymore, so I don't know where to find my balms anymore! Boo. If anyone knows of current CR sprees, do let me know kay (: Need to stock up! Lol

Kris Allen - I need to know.
