Shimmer Shimmery Pappady Do! Review: Burt's Bees Lip Shimmer in Watemelon

Ahh lipbalms. How I adore them. They were my first discovery into the land of beauty at the tender age of 13. I remember pooh pooh-ing the idea of lip balm and golly.. How wrong I was, n years later.

Now my lip balm collection is out of control, with the last check being around 100+ lip products, inclusive of balms, gloss, stick, butter. I am genuinely afraid to count further. Anyway, less babble and onto today's review.

Enter Burt's Bees Lip Shimmer in Watermelon.

I apologise for the lack of swatch pictures beforehand. My camera just managed to capture a decent enough picture, (the one above) and after that it just refuses to take any other pictures. I will try my best to describe the colour as accurately as possible.

Where do I start? Right.. Product Information

Name: Burt's Bees Lip Shimmer in Watermelon
Weight/Price: 0.09 oz/ 2.6g / USD 4.99
Packaging: Twist up lip balm with cap. Note: Don't over twist the lip balm. It doesn't come back down!
Repurchase: Not very likely. I have a gazillion more to go through!

The lip shimmer is best described as a frosty light rose lip balm. On my lips it leans towards frosty pink. Applied onto lips it has a slight tingly/minty taste which I like and also apparent in my other Burt's Bees lip balm. As a lip shimmer I say it would have worked up to its claims, being shimmery and being coloured. But for its moisturising properties, I have to comment on the lack of it. Applying it on is a dream, with just enough slip when you smack your lips together but it is not as moisturising as an ordinary lip balm would. This would be the trade off between having colours on your lips and having a moisturising lip balm I gather. I like this lip balm on days where I go out at night because this doesn't have SPF.

Overall, this is an alright balm with nothing much to really write home about. I bought it purely because I liked the colour and nothing else. It gives a nice colour to my lips and its not as reflective on my lips than it is on my hands but I can't see myself repurchasing this lip balm simply because I have a gazillion more to go through. Note: This contains lanolin and carmine.
